Clinton Signs Developmental Disabilities Act


President Clinton on October 30, 2000, signed legislation (H.R. 4920) reauthorizing the Developmental Disabilities Act. The bill authorizes four programs: Developmental Disabilities Council State Grants, Protection and Advocacy Systems, University Affiliated Programs, and Projects of National Significance, all of which are programs aimed at assisting people with developmental disabilities. The bill was passed by unanimous consent in both the House and Senate in early October.
